Forward Osmosis Process for the Treatment of Wastewater from Textile Industries

This paper was aimed to study the efficiency of forward osmosis (FO) process as a new application for treatment wastewater from textile effluent and factors affecting performance process.The draw solutions used were magnesium chloride (MgCl2), aluminum sulphate (Al2 ( SO4)3 .18 H2O), feed reactive red, disperse blue dyes.Experimental work includes operating using thin film composite (TFC) membrane flat sheet different solutions. The parameters studied : concentration (10 – 90 g/l), (5 30 mg/l), flow rate 50 l/hr), (20-60 constant pressure temperature maintained at 0.5 bar 30ºC respectively. And cellulose triacetate (CTA) 30ºC. It found that water flux increases with increasing solution concentration, decreases TFC CTA. MgCl2 given larger than Alum. also red blue.The experiments show CTA gives higher operation. increase in is about 12.85% TFC.
